good meeting

So after the surprise phone call on Wednesday, aunt C, bio mom D, baby D and I met at McD on Thursday. It was a great meeting , we caught up on stuff, I brought some pics of Max, we had a good talk. The baby is adorable and looks like Max, other than the color of his eyes.(baby D has gogeous bright blue eyes)

I know that there are people that do not understand why I would meet bio family, let alone have Max meet them.....................it's very hard to explain my feelings on this and I just had to go with my gut instinct.

I am happy that D has gotten clean and is on the right track. She has picked herself up and seems determined to make a good life for herself and for little D. Who am I to judge her................was I upset and frustrated with her in the past..........absolutely, you bet. But I can not and will not let that hold me back. It is all water under the bridge and we can only move forward...........

I have always had compassion for mom ( see my blog about Max) and she has never been far from my mind, so the opportunity to see her and give her a hug and connect was a blessing.

To be able to sit down and talk about this little boy that we both love, you can not deny that there is a powerful bond between an adoptive mom and a birth mom.

On Friday we met at McD again, this time at the indoor playground. His 2 cousins were there, but as far as he was concerned they were just other kids at the playground and mommy was just talking to these other ladies (which I am known to do anyway LOL) It was all very relaxed. Max is outgoing, so it was only a matter of time before he came up and asked what the babies name was. D jumped right in and asked him his name and how old he was, his favorite color. Little questions that anyone would ask to a young child. She handled it all like a pro !! We ended up takinf some pics, playing around with the camera, goofing around and before I knew it, it was time to go.

I am happy I took this leap of faith, there was not a glimmer of regocnition from Max, which is what we all hoped for. D lives in another state so this will not happen often, but I am grateful for such a nice and succesful visit !
