Last Saturday Oscar had his All State concert. L went for respite with Cathy and sofia and I took off to Tampa. Oscar had already been there for 3 days, for rehearsals.
To get to All State he had first qualified through tests at school, and then through 3 auditions. He had to sight read music, he had to sing (after studying 4 pieces of music, they basically take any part and tell the student to sing that particular part)
My baby boy qualified............not just for the men's choir, nope............he made it to the mixed choir, which is another step up.
It was impressive.............300 students from around Florida, singing their hearts out........traditional songs ( Mozart and a 17th century old peruvian song in quechua (how funny was that))
But also "somewhere" from the West Side Story.(always good for a tear)
They had started off with the Star Spangled Banner...........it was beautiful from beginning to end, goosebumps, goosebumps
I am so very, very proud of him.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
