All the kids wake up pretty good in the morning. Sofia likes to step straight in the shower, Liliana gets dressed quick, and gets her own breakfast. Sebastian wakes up every single day with a smile, telling you all about his dreams, etc.
And then there's max.............Max likes to be woken up gently........I usually wake him up first, give his meds with his Pediasure, after chugging that, he rolls over and goes right back to sleep.
He needs a LOT of encouragement, loving, hugs and if all else fails.......threats LOL
This morning he was happy, laughing, getting dressed ( I still help him all the way, it's just faster) and he asks me; "mom, can I wear my Starbucks shoes today...."
Starbucks shoes...........gotta love it ! He meant his All stars, close enough right ?
of course I knew exactly what he meant........we had a good laugh though !

Growth.......
Last year we frequently had a teenager moping around the house........grumpy, borderline depressed, not knowing what to do with college getting closer.
Over the past month ( after a summer of hanging with friends and having fun) he has seen the light.......hallelujah ! first he came home and announced he wanted a haircut ! Holy mother of God, I could have kissed his feet ! His new "do" looks great, we can all see his face again ! so, so handsome ! He has also decided to go straight to university, much better than the old plan of doing the local college for a while and seeing if they could make enough touring with the band, to sustain themselves.......
yes, can you imagine.......touring with his band..............uhm, don't think so honey. This is where mom laid down the law and told him he would at the very least get a master's......................seriously, college is paid for, he has a 4. some GPA
You are going and that's it ! Well now he has decided and is all enthusiastic, happy.
Still between 2 different universities..........but he will major in music.
He has also joined the local youth opera..........very excited about that. soon the auditions will start for all state.............
AND he has a job, wahooooooooooooo
Very proud of him and tickled pink to see him so gung ho about all the happenings !

I LOVE these DVD's ! Little one is way behind in speech........he will be 2 next month and says mama, papa, max, wawa (water), bye..........I think that's about it
Signing however........we have; more, baby, eat, sleep, grumpy, helicopter, bus, school, hurt, horse, dog, bird, cat, I love you, car, motorcycle, diaper, frog, milk, all done.
Not too shabby !! There's not a whole lot spontaneous signing, but we're getting there!

back to school cooties
It never fails................put all the kids back in school, all together......wait about 2 weeks and let the colds begin ! usually it's not a big deal, but this year.......geez.....it hit me hard, my sinuses are killing me and just when I thought I was getting better.........last night I started again. My cough sounds like I have been smoking for 20 years !
Little one was getting more congested and just icky, so this afternoon I took him to the ped, he will be on Augmentin for 10 days, hopefully it won't tear his stomach up !
Tomorrow we have GI, I fully intend to pick his brain about the never ending throwing up ! it gets old !

busy weekend !
Saturday night I took the kids to Disney on ice, we had a great time ! The school district has been offering these discounted tickets, for $15, a lot more affordable to take a whole gaggle of kids there !
The boys sat on one side next to me, cute as can be, very well behaved and so, so excited. It was a constant back and forth of " Sebastian look at that" " Maxi did you see that one" AWWWWWWWWWWWW, melted my heart !
Getting from the parking lot to the place and the seats went super smooth. I had Sebastian on one hand, the girls know to stay close to me, but Max usually gets over excited and tends to start running ahead, etc. This time, even though I did not have a hand free ( holding 4 jackets and a bag) he did awesome ! He hooked his finger in my pocket and did not let go ! Very, very proud of him !
Liliana does not want to be a dog walker anymore..........I think she could see herself as Tinkerbell, skating around !

my goal for the month
My goal for the month is to have 30 post, we have some serious catching up to do ! a lot of the post are in my head, typically when I am driving I come up with topics (unless I am on the phone with various dr, therapists, etc)
end of summer vacation
We were going to do something fun, go to the beach or to an awesome park, anything really.........................other than having surgery !
Wednesday night, Max decided to clean his ear with a Q tip ( a no-no) Ofcourse he doesn't do this and stand still, no he's walking around, manages to trip over the dog and fall on the Qtip in his ear.......................
He completely ruptured the eardrum, and required surgery to reconstruct the eardrum with a graft, taken from the back of his ear.
We had to be up at peds @ 6 am, of course we brought donuts for the whole crew. Max was given some tylenol with codeine for pain ( the ear was oozing blood and pus, nasty stuff !)
Let me tell you, Max without the meds that he needs and on meds for pain.........he woke up the whole hospital while they were wheeling his bed downstairs to pre op!
Singing at the top of his lungs, wild, crazy, etc
I went with him to the OR, he picked out the flavor of the mask and almost passed out from trying "to inflate the balloon" rather than the laugh gas !
Post op was icky, lots of crying, shaking, mommy don't leave me, etc. Complained about his stomach a lot, we couldn't get the prevacid in him fast enough !
he drank some gatorade and slept for about 1 hr, then asked for a hotdog.....!!!
Needless to say, we could go home soon after. We have since had 3 check ups, lots of antibiotics, oral and topical, of course he got a raging infection. His hearing will be tested in about 2 weeks, he still complains he can't hear that well.
